Point Zero is a startup born in the Innovative Electric and Hybrid Vehicles research group, part of the Mechanical Engineering department of Politecnico di Torino.
At the core of Point Zero there are the three researchers responsible for the creation of the startup: Giovanni Imberti, Henrique de Carvalho Pinheiro and Massimiliana Carello.
Experience
The team has expertise in innovative mobility and alternative powertrain underlined by academic recognitions as more than 100 papers on high ranked journals, 4 patents, but also transforming and transferring this knowledge into the real world as Massimiliana Carello founded H2politO more than 15 years ago and her previous entrepreneurial expertise as co-founder of the Politecnico di Torino’s Spin-off BeonD.
History
In 2021 the team started from a simple question: “Are the Electric Vehicle really Zero-Emissions?” With ingenuity, decided to put together forces and efforts to solve a problem that is stronger and tougher everyday: Reduce Vehicle Emissions.

Zero-Emissions Driving Systems - ZEDS
A system suitable for braking a vehicle avoiding the production of particulate matter and other pollutants, combining the efficiencies coming from an in-wheel electric motor with the potential of a magnetorheological brake.
Electro-actuated braking system and relative control method
The invention refers to a Control System for one or more Electric Motors to which an electro-actuated braking system is integrated.
